Dear Elhi & Lumpi, just preparing to fly to Las Palmas for annual winter sun.We were just remembering back when the young Austrian couple arrived to take over La Taberna, almost a decade ago now.The energy, enthusiasm and imagination they put into what must be the best restaurant on the island. Lumpi's culinary skills combined with Elfi's artistic touch delivered by Taberna's Team in a beautiful setting with warm athmosphere continues to meet the highest standards year afer year. This is surely the sign of a great restaurant. A rean Gem in a volcanic Caniarian Cave. We wish you health and continued success for many more years. Sincerely. Seamus & Anne Cody. Five girls on our annual holiday ... wow! The most superior meal we have ever had in all our travels. Fantastic food, great ambience and wonderful staff. What a joy! Will definitely be back and recommend.

I live approximately 10 minutes away, but had not heard about your restaurant until earlier this year. When my husband came to visit me from the UK we finally made it to you last Saturday night. So glad we did... It's so nice to have such an excellent restaurant within staggering distance. I thought the decor, service and quality food was to die for - make no mistake - we shall be back! Thank you for a lovely evening!

We have been visiting Gran Canaria for 9 years, and only discovered this fantastic restaurant 5 years ago. The food is to die for and the service is second to none. Definitely the best restaurant on the island. The staff are so friendly. So disappointed that for the last two years the restaurant has been shut when we visit at the end of July, Please open again!!

Just do it! Make a reservation. Over several years I have sent people here to eat from a lot of countries. Everybody has been very satisfied. I say...GO EARLY in your vacation, because you will wish to go ones more if you have the chance!

My boyfriend and I had an absolutely lovely time. It was definitely the best place we ate on the island during our holiday, and my second favourite dining experience so far. The garlic soup is to die for and you MUST have pudding!!

We had the greatest pleasure of dining for the first time at this fabulous restaurant in Puerto Rico on 2nd Jan 07 thankfully having found it by chance on the internet and what a wonderful finding! The setting of the restaurant, the food, the presentation, service and the friendly staff made it all worthwhile for us. After our meal we had the pleasure of meeting Elfi and Garry and had some drinks at the bar with them and other guests that had dined there and what a lovely couple to have the pleasure of meeting. Congrats on your lovely restaurant and a great team of staff and a wonderful website. We will be highly recommending this restaurant to our friends when they visit Puerto Rico and we look forward to returning there hopefully again in 2007. Well done!

We dined at La Taberna for the first time on Friday evening (15th December 2006) after the restaurant had been recommended to us by a friend. It was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, the presentation was fantastic and the staff were very friendly.
We are regular viitors to Gran Canaria and regret not having discovered La Taberna before.
We will be returning next August/September and will definitely be reserving a table.

The evening 30th of October 2006, at your resturant La Taberna, was a fantastic evening, not only for me, but for all of my guests. Im sure we will remember this special evening for many years ahead.
I wanted to give my guests a special evening for my 50th years birthday, and you made sure of that. The table you had made ready for us when we arrived, was fantastic, and so was all of the food. It was a fantastic meal, and it was more than I had ever expected. When the lights were turned off, and you played the birthdaysong for me, I got really moved.
Once again I would like to send my best thanks to the chef, and especially thanks to the smily, absolutely great waitress. We forgot to get your name, but you managed to give us an unforgettable celebration.

I shall also bring the very best thanks from all of my guests, and we will give our very best recommendations to all.
